Credit Cards and First Credit Cards

Getting a Credit Card with no History

Your first credit card can be dependent on your circumstances. For example, as a full-time university student, a student credit card can help to build your credit score before getting a full-time job. These credit cards have a lower credit limit than usual credit cards to prevent any debts, around £300 to £1,000, and you may be able to avoid paying the monthly interest rate if you pay off the balance in full before your statement. Just as with any normal credit card, missing payments can damage your credit history, also known as adverse credit history; a poor credit score can affect your future chances of getting credit.
